Susan Gibbs, the station announcer for National Express train operator c2c at their London Fenchurch Street station has been awarded an MBE for services to the railway industry in the Queens Birthday Honours list.
Susan is affectionately known as the ‘Voice of Fenchurch Street’ with her calm and instantly recognisable announcing. What the thousands of c2c customers who pass through the station each day do not see is Susan’s dedication and commitment behind the scenes in helping to keep Fenchurch Street running smoothly, particularly in supporting her colleagues with great professionalism, experience and knowledge.
Like most stations, Fenchurch Street relies on the teamwork of everyone in delivering great customer service and Susan see’s this recognition as being not just a deserved award for her contribution, but also for the entire c2c team based at Fenchurch Street.
Julian Drury, Managing Director for c2c said: “I am very proud that Susan has received this honour which is truly deserved. She really is the voice of Fenchurch Street and has a great rapport with our customers and her work colleagues. Susan is highly respected and is always on-hand to offer her colleagues guidance and support. ”
