Coach services continue to bring people home

National Express, the UK’s leading coach company, is continuing to provide thousands of extra coach seats across the UK for people coming home after being stuck abroad.

Coach services to and from Scotland, the UK ports such as Dover, Portsmouth and Southampton together with other long distance services to Newcastle, Leeds and Manchester are proving to be the most popular.

Eurolines, the European coach arm of National Express has repatriated 17,000 people since the crisis began on Thursday, an increase of 200% compared to normal travel during this period.

Paul Bunting, Managing Director of National Express coaches said, “We are doing everything we can to bring people home.  Going by coach is probably the most cost effective way to travel and in the UK and across Europe we are able to provide people with an alternative route home.”

More than 5000 people have travelled with National Express to Scotland since the crisis began on Thursday and more coaches are being added to the network every day.

In Europe, the most popular locations are travel to and from Dublin, Paris, Amsterdam, Brussels and Prague.
