Alsa partnership with Unicef in Morocco

In 2007 ALSA and UNICEF formed a permanent alliance to promote UNICEF's work, and financially support its international programmes for the protection and development of infant children.
As a result of this agreement, from 2007-2010 ALSA contributed €100,000 to a project to promote and support breastfeeding in Morocco. The project focuses on increasing awareness of the importance and the benefits of breastfeeding.
Between2011-2013 ALSA will support another UNICEF program in Morocco with €75,000, called "Quality and equitable neonatal health".
Aimed at pregnant women, newborns and health personnel, the project focuses on the improvement of pre and postnatal care offered to both mothers and newborn children at the health centers in the areas of intervention, with the objective of reducing neonatal mortality.
The project is taking place at the health centers of 17 Moroccan provinces, in the regions of Sous Massa Daraa, Guelmim Assa Zag and Marrakech-Tensif-Al Haouz
